1. Overview

Luminesca Tools offers free online utilities (JSON formatter, base64 encoder, hash generator, unit converters, and more). This page explains how we handle your data across all tools on this site.

2. The Short Version

Most tool processing happens in your browser. The majority of our utilities (JSON formatting, base64, unit conversion, hashing) run entirely client-side, so the data you paste into them never leaves your device. Four things do reach the network, and each is described in section 4: audio generated by the Text-to-Speech download button, live exchange rates in the Currency Converter, two JavaScript libraries loaded from a public CDN, and Google Analytics traffic data. Local playback in Text-to-Speech, and everything the other tools do with your input, stays on your device.

3. Information We Collect

• Tool input (client-side tools): tool computations run client-side. We never see the data you process in these tools.
• Text-to-Speech (download button only): text you send to the Download MP3 button is transmitted to a third-party speech-generation service (Google Text-to-Speech) solely to render the audio file, capped at about 200 characters per request. It is not stored by us or used for any other purpose. The Speak button uses your browser's own speech engine and sends nothing.
• Currency Converter (page load): the tool requests live reference rates from open.er-api.com. Only the base currency code is sent; the amount you enter stays in your browser. The service sees your IP address as part of serving that request.
• Analytics data: standard aggregated web analytics (pages visited, approximate region, device type, referring site) via Google Analytics (GA4). This is aggregated and does not personally identify you. You can opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out.
• Cookies: we use cookies for advertising (Google AdSense) and analytics (Google Analytics) only. We do not set any functional or tracking cookies of our own.

4. Third-Party Services

• Google AdSense: this site displays ads served by Google. Google uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits. You may opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com.
• Google Analytics: we use GA4 to understand overall site traffic and improve our tools. It collects aggregated usage statistics; IP addresses are processed in a privacy-preserving manner.
• Google Text-to-Speech: used by the Text-to-Speech tool's Download MP3 button to convert submitted text into an audio file. Text is processed for this purpose only. Local playback in the same tool does not leave your browser.
• open.er-api.com: the Currency Converter's live exchange-rate source. It receives the base currency code and your IP address. If the request fails, the tool falls back to a built-in rate table and labels the result as approximate.
• cdnjs.cloudflare.com: a public CDN that serves two JavaScript libraries — marked.js (Markdown rendering) and pdf-lib (PDF merge and split). It therefore sees your IP address; no tool input is sent to it. If your network or an ad blocker prevents the download, those tools cannot run and will say so rather than failing silently.
• Cloudflare: our hosting and CDN provider, which may process IP addresses for security and edge delivery purposes.

Tool usage measurements

On JSON Formatter, Image Compressor and Markdown Editor, we measure operations started, successful or failed processing, coarse duration ranges, and successful copy or download initiation. These events use a fixed tool name, operation name and error category. They do not include your input, output, filenames, clipboard contents, or URL query strings and fragments. We do not create an additional tracking identifier or store tool inputs for these measurements. The events use Google Analytics, whose normal measurement identifiers may still apply. Tool measurements are disabled when your browser signals Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.

A download event means your browser was asked to download the result; it does not confirm that a file was saved to disk.

5. Children's Privacy

Luminesca Tools is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
